The Olite vineyards were formed into a cooperative almost 100 years ago making Vega del Castillo the oldest in Spain. Winemaking skills and secrets have been passed down from generation to generation. Now, with advanced technology they are able to combine tradition and modern techniques.

The grape harvest takes place in mid-September and for this wine only 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are selected. Temperature-controlled alcoholic fermentation is undertaken followed by malolactic fermentation in American oak barrels for 3 months ageing.

Bright, deep intense cherry red colour with shades of violet. Strong aromas of wild fruits, blackberries and blueberries. Complex mixture of well balanced flavours with a final expression of ripe fruits.

Grilled and roasted meats. Vegetable, rice and pasta dishes. Smoked fish and strong sauced casserole dishes. Chinese and oriental cuisine. Very good with mature strong cheeses.
