Campos Reales Canforrales Syrah (2005)

This old cooperative of over 750 farmers is located in El Provencio in the winemaking region of La Mancha. Surrounded by abundant holm oaks and pine trees, the vineyards has clay and calcareous (lime) soil. So such special conditions added by a very long tradition of winemaking history Campos Reales is truly a very high class wine producer.

The syrah grape, one of the noblest and oldest varieties in the World, has adapted perfectly to Campos Reales vineyard conditions. The harvest is in early September from over 20 year-old vines. Fermentation takes place very slowly at low temperature in stainless steel tanks which helps to keep the fruitiness and original aromas. The wine is aged for 3 months in oak barrels.

Deep red coloured, almost violet. Rich, powerful and very well structured.

Red-fruit aromas of black current predominate, with hints of blackberry jam, liquorice and pepper. Balanced acidity. Long aftertaste.

Grilled red meats (beef and lamb). Chicken, pork and vegetable dishes. Rice and pasta dishes, spicy Chinese cuisine. A great wine just to drink by itself.
