Giro Ribot "Mare" Gran Reserva (2005)

In one of the oldest, richest and most fertile wine-producing regions of Spain (Penedès) is the Giro Ribot family-owned vineyard Finca El Pont. It is bordered to the south by the Mediterranean Sea with a continental climate.

Hand-picked grape harvest is from mid-September to early October. Fermentation takes place very slowly and at low temperatures to assist the generation of secondary aromas in the first fermentation. Ageing in the bottle for three and half to four years.

Straw-coloured with golden iridescence. A fine floral delicate aroma with lightly toasted tones and touches of dried herbs. Flavourful, dry, structured and with character. Well balanced yet mature in the bottle, with notable hints of honey and very clean yeasty tones. Light touch of dried fruits and nuts. Pleasant, harmonious sensation and very persistent finish in the mouth. An excellent elegant wine for drinking now or keeping. Great value for money.

All types of white meats and light red meats. Ideal for hot and cold fish and shellfish. Perfect for pastry, sweetmeats, fruit tarts, dried fruits and nuts. Great as an aperitif.
