Chateau du Haut Guerin

Château du Haut Guérin is located in Saint-Savin, in the Blaye area of Bordeaux. The estate is associated with the Coureau family, including brothers Jérôme and Stéphane Coureau.

The 2009 vintage was produced using mechanically harvested grapes, with destemming and sorting equipment designed to select suitable fruit before vinification. The wine's refined oak character suggests careful maturation, although the exact barrel-ageing duration for the 2009 vintage has not been confirmed.

The estate is known for traditional Bordeaux red blends, particularly Merlot and Cabernet varieties.

Château du Haut Guérin 2009 displays a deep red colour with subtle brick-red reflections, reflecting its developing maturity. On the nose, it reveals an inviting combination of ripe black fruits and refined oak aromas, complemented by elegant notes of spice, mocha and menthol. On the palate, the wine opens with a lively and expressive attack before developing into a rounded, full-bodied texture. Well-structured tannins provide depth and balance, while delicate oak influences add complexity without overwhelming the fruit. The finish is harmonious and satisfying, showcasing the richness and elegance of a mature Bordeaux red wine.

Château du Haut Guérin 2009 pairs well with richly flavoured meat dishes, including roasted beef, grilled lamb, slow-braised beef and game. Its mature fruit character and structured tannins also complement mushroom-based dishes, roasted vegetables and aged cheeses.
