Family owned winery in the region of La Horra, possibly the most prestigious plots by the bank of the river Duero. This area is known for low yielding high quality grapes and outstanding wines. The grape harvest takes place in mid-September and all the grape bunches are hand-picked from vines over 50 years old, and then gravity fed to the tanks through OVI system. Two days maceration at 12°C, alcoholic fermentation at 29°C. Further 14 days maceration then malolactic fermentation (Nov.-Dec.). Ageing for 15 months in new American and new French barrels, clarification with natural egg whites and bottle ageing for another 12 months.

Deep crimson red hue with purple strains. Dense, and satiny. Complex, intense nose, perfectly blending primary aromas and toasted nuances delivered by the wood. Fully ripened red forest fruits make their presence felt along with plentiful toasted and balsamic notes. Slight mineral reminiscence. In the mouth: strong, harmonious and structured. Palate-friendly tannins, ripe fruits delivering a sweet, candied flavour. The balsamic and fruit notes linger to a pleasant long after taste.

All type of red meats, poultry, smoked, grilled, roasted and strong sauced dishes. Chinese cuisine. Very good with most cheeses.
