Family owned winery in the region of La Horra, possibly the most prestigious plots by the bank of the river Duero. This area is known for low yielding high quality grape and outstanding wines. The grape harvest takes place in mid-September and all grape bunches are hand picked from vines 20–50 years old (80%), and over 50 years old (20%) and then gravity fed to the tanks through OVI system. 2 days maceration at 12°C, alcoholic fermentation at 29°C. Further 10 days maceration then malolactic fermentation (Nov.-Dec.). Ageing for 12 months in new American and new French barrels, clarification with natural egg whites and bottle ageing for another 24 months.

Deep cherry red with crimson strains. Intense robe and dense legs. Strong and complex nose of red fruits, liquorice and hints of fine American oak, in perfect harmony. In the mouth: mixture of red fruits that are balanced and full-flavoured. Moderate acidity and rounded, elegant tannins gives rise to a vibrant and fresh wine. Long and persistent after taste.

All type of red meats, poultry, smoked, grilled and roasted. Strong sauced dishes, Chinese food and most cheeses.
