Nocedal Rioja Reserva (2001)

Located in the famous wine-making town of Fuermayor in the prestigious La Rioja Alta wine region of Spain. Association of business people formed to produce fine Reseva wine and to only make this wine in special vintage years. This wine has been selected for the dining room of the Guards of the King of Spain.

Hand-picked harvest takes place in September from vines over 25 years old. Fermentation at 27°C in stainless steel tanks for about 10 days, then further 12 days maceration. Ageing for 18 months in American and French oak barrels, clarification with natural egg whites and bottle ageing for another 24 months.

Intense cherry red colour. Noble fragrance and aroma with lasting bouquet of the tempranillo grape that lingers, combined with an elegant touch of new barrels. In the mouth: powerful and intense, sweet tannins predominate, giving a wide sense of a variety of mixed fruits and new wood. A powerful and soft wine with a long and pleasant aftertaste.

All type of red meats, poultry, grilled, roasted and strong sauced. Rice and pasta dishes. Chinese and Thai cuisine. Very good with most cheeses.
